Sioux Rapids residents are being asked by Buena Vista County Emergency Management to use porta potties that have been placed throughout the community as much as possible instead of flushing toilets due to an overrun in the sewer system.

A donation center has been set up at the Sioux Rapids Fire Department. Hours will begin today (Mon) at 9am and close at 5pm. Goods that will be accepted include toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, rubber cleaning gloves, work gloves, large black contractor garbage bags, and basic first aid supplies.
