A Storm Lake man was arrested on multiple charges, several of them drug-related, following a traffic stop earlier this week.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Monday around 9pm for a minor violation in the 900 block of East Milwaukee Avenue. The driver was identified as 44-year-old Jermaine Whiteside of Storm Lake. During the traffic stop, the officer detected the odor of narcotics, and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded marijuana, ecstasy pills, and marijuana wax cartridges. Police also located a loaded firearm within the vehicle. Whiteside was taken into custody on scene without incident.
Whiteside was charged with two counts of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, and Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Deliver, both class D felonies…Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance and Person Ineligible to Carry a Dangerous Weapon, both serious misdemeanors…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
Whiteside was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a 17 thousand 300 dollar bond.
