SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — Eight years and $12 million later, Chris Larsen Park is officially complete.
Officials cut the ribbon at the park today, even though some parts of the park have been open since last fall. The park offers a wide variety of amenities including picnic areas, a splash pad, basketball courts and much more.
“It’s great to see it come together,” State Steel officer Dave Bernstein said. “The best thing about it is to come down here and see how many people are using it on a regular basis. We were down here at 10:45 last night and it was packed, and it is really good to see people come down and see it and use all the different parts.”
The Siouxland park has already seen many visitors, with many more to come.
