SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — A pedestrian was hit by a Sioux City Transit bus Wednesday morning, officials confirmed.

The incident took place at the intersection of 5th Street and Pierce Street around 11:22 a.m., Sgt. Thomas Gill with the Sioux City PD told Iowa Media Wire 9.

A pedestrian, described as a man in his 60s, was crossing the street when a city bus driver, who reportedly did not see the man, was making a turn from Pierce Street onto 5th Street. The bus then hit the pedestrian.

The pedestrian’s tibia and fibula were broken, Gill said. He was taken to a local hospital.
