Angel Cars program provides single parent with vehicle

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — The Community Action Agency of Siouxland (CAAS) was able to provide a single mom with a vehicle through the Angel Cars program on Wednesday.

According to a release, the Angel Car program is possible through partnerships with Tires Tires Tires, Sid Shoemaker (AFLAC), Meier Towing, Safelite AutoGlass, and more. These organizations work together to guarantee that cars given to parents through Angel Cars are safe and in proper working condition.

The program was created to help single parents in the community and empower them through ownership of their own vehicles, the communication action agency said.

To be eligible, applicants must live in Woodbury County, a single-parent household living with children, have no operational vehicle, be employed, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to pay for plates, taxes, and registration fees for the vehicle.
