ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — A head-on collision took the life of one woman and left another injured on Friday.
According to a crash report, Joni Wulf, 48, was traveling north on Highway 75 at 4:27 p.m. when she allegedly crossed the center line, into oncoming traffic.
The report states that Megan Klapperich was traveling south on Highway 75 and attempted to swerve to the left to avoid Wulf. However, their vehicles crashed head-on in the northbound lane.
Wulf did not survive the crash and Klapperich was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The report specified that both women were wearing their seatbelts.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Rock Rapids Fire Department, Lyon County EMS, Trackside, and the Iowa DOT.
