SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — On Friday morning, a group of young kids took to the lake to learn how to fish.
The Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center held a fishing event at Browns Lake for young kids ages 7 through 12. The free event taught the kids how to put bait on their fishing pools, as well as helped them catch fish.
“I’m predominantly in charge of worms so I’m kind of showing them how I put on the hook and how to cast the reel,” intern Rachel Sadler said. “A lot of them have been fishing before so it leaves not a lot of work for us.”
Kids in Iowa under the age of 16 do not need a fishing license. If you’d like to register for a license, click here.
