Crew responds to garage fire in Spencer

SPENCER, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — Spencer Fire-Rescue responded to and extinguished a “fully involved garage fire” in Spencer on Tuesday.

According to a release, Spencer Fire-Rescue arrived at 223 East 2nd Street at about 6:26 p.m. on June 11. The electrical fire, which was emitting heavy smoke, had broken through the roof, causing it to partially collapse.

Lines were pulled to protect exposures on the north and west sides of the garage, the release states. By about 8:44 p.m., the fire had been controlled and extinguished.
