Two people were arrested on drug-related charges earlier this month following a traffic stop in Clay County.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the traffic stop was made during the evening of June 2nd in the 47 hundred mile of Highway 71. A deputy allegedly smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Carrey Ross of Ruthven, was found to be in possession of cocaine, marijuana, oxycodone, and drug paraphernalia. Additional marijuana was uncovered following a search of the vehicle.
Ross was charged with 2nd Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance Cocaine and 2nd Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance Oxycodone, both aggravated misdemeanors…2nd Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, a serious misdemeanor…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Interference With Official Acts, Speeding, No Insurance, and Failure to Display a Registration Plate, all simple misdemeanors.
A passenger in the vehicle, 25-year-old Kallie Molacek of Estherville, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana.
Ross and Molacek were both booked into the Clay County Jail.
