A fight over Iowa’s book ban law went back to court.

The latest round in the battle is over an injunction that’s been in place since December. The U.S. Courts of Appeals heard arguments from the state asking to lift the injunction. Attorneys from Lambda Legal and the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) of Iowa want the court to uphold the injunction against two provisions of Iowa Senate File 496. The law bans books that depict any sort of sex act from school libraries and classrooms. There is no timetable for a decision from the court.
