SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — Two Siouxland organizations are collaborating to highlight the importance of mentorship for the youth in the community.
According to a release, Siouxland United F.C. Soccer Team is partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland (BBBS) by honoring the Bigs, Littles, and Mentors from the mentoring program during a home game on June 26th at Memorial Field. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
The release states that the partnership between the organizations is to “empower the next generation through positive role modeling and community involvement.” These efforts are intended to highlight the importance of relationships and the impact that mentorship can have on youth.
“We are delighted to join forces with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland in our shared mission of supporting youth development and foste4ring a sense of belonging within our community,” President of Siouxland United F.C. Mike Wells said, “Through this partnership, we hope to inspire and uplift young individuals by recognizing the invaluable contributions of their mentors.”
According to the release, Bigs and Littles from the BBBS program will be celebrated during a ceremony prior to the kickoff.
“We are excited to partner with Siouxland United F.C. to shine a spotlight on the transformative power of mentorship,” Executive Director of BBBS Kristie Arlt said, “By showcasing the bonds between BIgs and Littles at the soccer game, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of mentorship and inspire others to get involved in making a difference in the lives of youth.”
