SIOUX CITY, IOWA (Iowa Media Wire) – The Sioux City Explorers (12-15) earned its first series sweep of the season after a 7-4 win over the Lake Country DockHounds in the finale on Sunday evening.

The X’s offense plated six runs through the first four innings. Austin Drury (1-0) repped a strong start on the rubber with seven strikeouts through 5.1 innings of work while the bullpen closed it out with three scoreless innings.

The Explorers outscored the Dockhounds 17-6 in the series and the bullpen found its groove tossing 24 scoreless innings across three games.

The Explorers will be off tomorrow and return to action on Tuesday to begin a three-game series hosting the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at 7:05 p.m.
