SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire)– The sound of music can be heard from miles away in Sioux City, as residents sat down for a night of bluegrass music.
The second annual “Bluegills And Bluegrass Music Festival” kicked off with Sioux City’s very own Uncle Greg, who plays at the Vanguard Arts Center often, followed by five other artists like the Stillhouse Junkies.
Phyl Claeys with River-Cade says a lot of time goes into setting up this free event for the community.
“We create fun for the Siouxland community, and we’ve been doing it now, like I say, for, you know, 62 years and we’ve kept it going. We have 18 events during the year and yeah, this is what River-Cade does,” said Claeys.
Claeys says the bluegrass music festival plays till 10 p.m. tonight and fireworks will light up the sky after the final performance.
