The winners have been announced in the Storm Lake Star Spangled Spectacular’s annual children’s art contest.
Kindergartener Delilah Luce, daughter of Daryn and Felisha Luce, secured the prize for her colorful fireworks creation. Third grade student Bailey Aube, daughter of Tyler and Deidre Aube, won for her patriotic artwork. The students won gift certificates to the Sugar Bowl Gift Shop, as well as the opportunity to participate in The Big Parade on July 4th.
This marks the second year that the Spectacular children’s art contest has been extended from its poster/drawing contest to include younger grades with a coloring contest. The competition is open to all Storm Lake students in grades K through four. Early Elementary students are eligible for the coloring contest, and Elementary students are eligible for the poster contest. Work was judged on creativity and use of this year’s Star Spangled Spectacular theme “Light Up The Sky on The Fourth of July.”
