SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — A Sioux City childcare employee was charged for allegedly injuring a child.
On May 23, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., Geri Beltz, 31, of Cushing, Iowa was working as a childcare provider for a minor child in Sioux City, according to court documents.
Beltz allegedly grabbed and pulled the child forcibly by his upper arms multiple times. Visible marks were left on the child and were discovered later that day. Five days later, documents state that the bruising was still on the upper arm of the child.
The interaction of the grabbing and pulling was caught on the security cameras.
Beltz was arrested on Thursday and charged with child endangerment – bodily injury, a class D felony. She was booked into the Woodbury County Jail but has since bonded out of jail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for June 13.
