SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — Siouxlanders got a chance to take part in the second annual Community Health Fair.
It took place Friday afternoon at the Siouxland District Health Department on Nebraska Street. Those who attended got to learn about several programs and services that the Siouxland District Health Department provides. There were some family-friendly activities, free food, and door prizes available for people to win.
“Last year it was pretty small, it was kind of just a trial run and we didn’t have any vendors last year,” health promotions specialist Anais Mares said. “Last year was just mainly focused on the health department services. So we had a pretty good turnout last year, so this year we kind of wanted to make it a little bit bigger, invite more vendors so they can promote their services.”
More than 20 community organizations were represented at the health fair.
