SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — The River-Cade Bluegrass and Bluegills Music Festival is coming back to Sioux City for a second year.
The free event, which began last year, will host live music at the Anderson Dance Pavilion by the Missouri River on Saturday, June 8 from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. A riverfront fireworks show will follow at 10:15 p.m.
Featured performers include Uncle Greg, Kevin Harrington, Rivertown String Band, the Stinkbait Band, and the Ditchwater Bullfrogs, with Stillhouse Junkies closing out the show at about 8:45 p.m. There will also be a beer garden, art, and food vendors.
“I was really happy with the turnout last year,” River-Cade event coordinator Phil Claeys said. “Naturally this year because word had spread and with it being a free concert, I mean, that doesn’t happen very often. And especially with the quality of entertainment that we’re running, I mean it’s top grade. They’re all wonderful music, wonderful music for the family”
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
River-Cade Queen Natalie and Princess Sydney were in the Iowa Media Wire 9 studio Wednesday to talk about the festival. You can view that interview below:
