A crash in Crawford County resulted in one death and several others were injured, including two residents of Lytton.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 9:51 Tuesday night just east of Denison. A 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 23-year-old Brent Stephan of Yukon, Oklahoma was traveling east on Highway 30 when it lost control and collided with a westbound 2016 Chevrolet Suburban.

One of the passengers in the Grant Prix, 35-year-old Cory Beer of Bayard, was pronounced dead at the scene. Stephan, as well as two other passengers in the vehicle, 44-year-old Stacy Holloway and 23-year-old Heaven Holloway both of Lytton, were lifeflighted to University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Stephan was reportedly the only one in the vehicle wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Suburban, 19-year-Morgan Andersen of Shelby, was transported to the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison with non-life-threatening injuries. Andersen was reportedly wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
