SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — Another artist has been confirmed to play at this year’s Saturday in the Park.
Andy Frasco & the U.N. will be performing on the Main Stage on July 6, according to the Saturday in the Park website. Frasco will be performing on the same stage as Del Water Gap, Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs, Nikki Lane, and headliner Bleachers. Meanwhile, on the Abe Stage,
Andy Frasco & the U.N. is a blues rock band known for its “contagious party-animal energy,” their bio on the Saturday in the Park website says. Frasco tries to be better every year. The band recently put out a full-length LP “L’Optimist,” and explore more “difficult terrain, lyrically and emotionally.”
“With so much bad news in the world, why not try to figure out a way to get out of the darkness,” Frasco said. “We’re not going to be able to change the world, but we can at least help the process along by being optimistic that the future will turn itself around. And if everyone changes their mind state about the future, then maybe we can change the world.”
When the COVID pandemic hit, Frasco used the energy for touring to create a 33 episode variety show. Frasco also has a podcast featuring many celebrities.
Saturday in the Park is set to take place on July 6 at Grandview Park from noon until 10:30 p.m. Admission to the yearly music festival is free. In addition to the free music, there will also be food vendors at Eats Street. Artist Alley and the Iowa Media Wire Kid’s Zone will also be returning.
The SITP Festival was founded in 1991 and draws crowds in the tens of thousands every year.
