CRAWFORD COUNTY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — One person is dead and four others were injured after a fatal car crash on Highway 30.
The Iowa State Patrol said there was a fatal crash Tuesday around 9:50 p.m. on Highway 30 west of the N Avenue intersection, just east outside Denison.
An Oklahoma man was driving a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix east on Highway 30 when he lost control, authorities said. The Grand Prix then collided with a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 19-year-old.
One passenger in the Grand Prix, Cory Beer, 35, of Bayard, Iowa, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Grand Prix and two other passengers were flown to an Omaha hospital. The driver of the Suburban was taken to a local hospital with injuries considered not life-threatening.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
