DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has released updated information about the potential for severe weather affecting Iowa this afternoon and evening. A line of strong to severe storms will be possible with damaging winds and large hail with localized heavy rainfall possible. While an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, the environment is looking less favorable. The approaching front is expected to enter the western part of the state around mid-afternoon. The front is expected to pass through central Iowa early this evening and should depart the state late tonight or early Wednesday.
