A Perry man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly strangled his wife in the course of a domestic dispute.
Colton Lee Phillips, 34, of 717 16th St., Perry, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding flow of air/blood.
The incident began about 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of 16th Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Phillips allegedly first “threw her down in the yard” and then “pinned her in the corner of the garage and choked her,” according to court records.
The victim told the offices that she then entered the residence, where Phillips allegedly “followed her into the bathroom and once again pinned her in the corner, choking her,” according to court records.
The officers observed the victim’s “neck to be red,” and she “had multiple marks on her neck consistent with being choked,” according to court records.
Three minor children were present in the home during the incident, and two of them allegedly confirmed that Phillips “was attacking the victim,” according to court records
Phillips is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 14 in Dallas County District Court.
