SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — LifeServe Blood Center and the Sunnybrook Hope Center are teaming up over the next month for a common goal.
The blood center announced the partnership on Monday. The two nonprofits invite Siouxlanders to participate in their “Save One. Feed One.” initiative.
From June 3 to July 5, donors who visit the LifeServe Blood Center in Sioux City can mention “Hope Center” while donating to have LifeServe pledge to provide an item to the Hope Center in recognition of their blood donation. Donors can bring their own items as well.
According to a release, the collaboration “not only has the potential to save three local lives with a single blood donation but also aims to bolster the Hope Center’s resources, supporting individuals in the Siouxland area facing poverty with essential food items.”
The Hope Center is a food pantry run by the Sunnybrook Community Church since 2020. According to the church’s website, the pantry has impacted at least 220,000 people. They are currently looking for goods such as dry pasta, flour, paper towels, soap, and more.
