SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Iowa Media Wire) – The Sioux City Explorers jumped out to a 5-0 lead through 3 innings, but the Sioux Falls Canaries rode a five-run, 9th inning comeback to beat the X’s 8-7 and win the Siouxland series on Sunday evening.
Explorers’ Daniel Montano went 4-4 while Joey Murray and Brandon Brosher combined for two runs allowed over 7 innings, but it wasn’t enough as Nate Gercken walked Spencer Sarringar to give the Canaries a walk-off walk to clinch the comeback.
Explorers (8-13) are off tomorrow and return to action Tuesday with game one of a three-game series visiting the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. First pitch is set for 7:02 p.m.
