SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) – Siouxland Pride Alliance hosted its annual Pride Festival with a variety of booths and free lunch for visitors.
Since the Alliance’s formation 12 years ago it has been their mission to provide events like the festival so the community may come together to celebrate with one another.
“It’s important for even smaller communities, smaller cities like Sioux City to hold a pride event for people to understand that we are a part of every family, every profession,” said Karen Mackey, vice president of the Siouxland Pride Alliance. “We are in our community, we love Sioux City. We live here because we love it.”
The Siouxland Pride Alliance will finish off pride weekend with a pride interfaith service on Sunday at 11 a.m.
