SIOUX CITY, IOWA (Iowa Media Wire) – The Sioux City Bandits entered its 2024 regular season finale with high postseason stakes, and they answered the call with a dominant 62-35 win over the Greensboro Carolina Cobras.
Greensboro struck first with an opening drive touchdown, holding a 14-7 lead after the first quarter. But the Bandits responded emphatically with 20 unanswered points in the second quarter to build a 27-14 lead into halftime, scoring five more times in the second half to complete the victory.
Verlon Reed Jr threw for 107 yards totaling four touchdowns on the night. Drew Prohaska and Fred Bruno each picked up a pair of rushing scores.
As it stands, the Omaha Beef are the lone NAL team that has clinched a spot in the championship game. Following the Bandits win on Saturday night, Sioux City now needs the Omaha to defeat Greensboro in Week 13 to set up a Bandits vs. Beef National Arena League (NAL) Championship matchup.
