SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — The Sioux City Public Museum has opened a new exhibit focusing on Deep Purple’s Tommy Bolin.
The exhibit is called “Gypsy Soul: Remembering Sioux City’s Tommy Bolin.”
Bolin is known for playing in bands such as the James Gang and Deep Purple, as well as playing alongside musicians such as Billy Cobham and Alphonse Mouzon.
Bolin also had a solo career which started in 1975 with the release of his album “Teaser” which was followed up by his album “Private Eyes.”
Many of the artifacts on display are from the Tommy Bolin Band’s original drummer, Johnnie, Tommy Bolin’s brother.
The Tommy Bolin Foundation has partnered with the museum in the past for other exhibits that have promoted the Sioux City native.
