A search warrant was executed at a residence in Early on Thursday following the discovery of drug-related items.
According to the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, the department was assisting the Iowa Department of Human Services at 403 Main Street in Early when investigators located drug paraphernalia in plain sight, as well as a pressure cooker that appeared to have tubing attached to it. The items were discovered in the basement of the residence. Sheriff’s officials applied for a search warrant, and contacted the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement and the State Fire Marshal’s Office for assistance.
Prior to searching the home, the State Fire Marshal’s Office determined the pressure cooker was not an explosive device, and the substance in the cooker was neither a hazardous substance or drug-related paraphernalia. During the search, deputies seized numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia, baggies with residue ammunition, and a handgun with a homemade silencer.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
