DES MOINES, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — More organizations are reporting that they are being affected by the phone outage we reported this morning.

The outage is due to a water pipe breaking at Lumen Technologies in Des Moines, according to WHO-TV. a representative said they their technicians are working to repair the service disruption and will provide updates.

According to Woodbury County Emergency Management, landline services across the State of Iowa are affected by this outage. Cell phone and 911 services are not affected by this outage. Officials said that for anyone with life-threatening emergencies should call 712-560-5944.

MercyOne is experiencing a statewide phone outage Thursday morning.

According to a release from MercyOne, they are experiencing an outage where they cannot receive inbound calls in Iowa. This outage includes MercyOne Siouxland.

When callers try calling, they are running into a busy signal and cannot complete the call.

MercyOne said they are working to resolve the issue. They state that the issue was caused by water issues in a switching center in Des Moines.

MercyOne added that this may be affecting more than just MercyOne.
