GREENFIELD, Iowa (WHO) — Satellite imagery captured on Wednesday morning over central Iowa puts the scope of the tornado damage in the town of Greenfield into greater perspective.
An image, shared by Black Sky Technologies, shows the path of the storm running from the southwest corner to the east side. The storm chewed up homes and businesses as it moved to the northeast across town.
Authorities have confirmed that there are fatalities in town, but have not said how many people were killed. An early estimate from the National Weather Service shows the Greenfield tornado was at least an EF-2.
