ORANGE CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — A Hospers man has been sentenced to prison for sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Andrew Joslin, 36, was sentenced Tuesday on two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony; and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, a class D felony, the Sioux County Attorney said in a release.
Joslin was sentenced to no more than 30 years in prison. He was sentenced as a habitual offender for having been convicted as a felon twice. He will also have to pay criminal fines and surcharges as well as register as a sex offender for life.
On April 1, Joslin pleaded guilty to the charges as part of a plea agreement. Ten other charges were dismissed.

According to the agreement, Joslin allegedly committed sexual abuse upon an underage girl in Sioux County on at least two separate occasions on October 1, 2021 and August 1, 2023. He also admitted he had a depiction of the girl engaged in a sexual act.
Authorities said that Joslin solicited the girl for sex at a Hospers residence, and also solicited her for inappropriate sexual conduct.
Joslin was arrested in September 2023 after the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office received a report the day before the arrest.
