The Packwood and Batavia Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire early Thursday morning on Brookville Rd. According to Jeremey Attwood, the Packwood Fire Chief, the departments were dispatched just before 7 a.m. after they received a report of a home on fire and the occupants still inside the building. Once on the scene, it was discovered that one of the homeowners had already extinguished the flames. It is currently believed that electrical equipment short-circuited starting the blaze. Both homeowners received minor injuries and were transported to the Jefferson County Health Center.
