The Fairfield City Council is discussing the possibility of requiring the city’s code compliance officer and fire department housing inspectors to wear a body cam while working. This stems from an incident late last year where Fairfield’s Code Compliance Officer Weston McKee was allegedly open carrying on a property he was inspecting making the property owner uncomfortable. This decision would also be able to protect property owners and city employees from being accused of misconduct. The matter has been referred to the Fairfield Personnel Committee.
