The Jefferson County Board of Supervisors has accepted the resignation of the county’s ambulance director Brian Thomas. According to Supervisor Dee Sandquist, “Thomas resigned his position effective July 12th and will be on administrative leave until then. Judy Heisel will be the interim director. The Board of Supervisors acknowledges the work and dedication of Brian.”
Heisel stated that she doesn’t foresee this decision affecting day-to-day operations. “We will continue to operate as normal. Staffing and day-to-day reporting to the Board of Supervisors will also not be affected.”
Heisel will hold the position of Interim Ambulance Director until the county can find a suitable replacement. The supervisors will meet again on Monday to discuss salary, the potential hiring of an ambulance efficiency consultant, and a potential review period if a suitable replacement cannot be found. Thomas was unavailable for comments.
