SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — A Sheldon man has been sentenced for distributing child pornography.
Henry Araica-Gonzalez, 22, was sentenced to 12 years in on Thursday for distributing child porn to a minor. Araica-Gonzalez pleaded guilty to the charge on December 5.
An investigation into Araica-Gonzalez began after a minor told someone that they had a sexual relationship with him. During an interview with law enforcement, Araica-Gonzalez told officials that he knew the victim was a minor, admitted to having a sexual relationship with them, and admitted that he had filmed some of their sexual encounters. He has sent the minor these videos on at least one occasion.
Araica-Gonzalez was sentenced to 144 months in prison and is ordered to pay $1,100 in fines and assessments. After his release, he will have to serve a five-year supervised release.
