 A 34 year old Des Moines woman suspected of dealing drugs made her initial appearance in Jasper County District Court yesterday(Wednesday). Newton Police charged 34 year old Kayla Dawn Marie Royce with Possessing Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was arrested around 1:30 in the morning this past Tuesday, during a traffic stop near East 12th Street North and South 5th Avenue East. According to Police…Royce was a passenger in a truck that had a loud muffler and a white light showing towards the back. The Police Department’s K-9 dog indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. In a white bag on the passenger floorboard, by Royce’s leg, officers reported recovering multiple syringes loaded with what appeared to be heroin or methamphetamine. They also found more meth and a portable scale with meth residue in the bag. Court records show Royce has requested a bond reduction hearing, which has been scheduled for this coming Monday April 22nd
