10th Anniversary Rockin’ for a Cure Pete Goede ALS Benefit Concert

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) – For the 10th year, Siouxlanders were treated to free country and rock music, all for a worthy cause. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino hosted the Rockin’ for a Cure Pete Goede ALS Benefit concert on Sunday.

With five bands rocking the stage and many items up for auction, many Siouxlanders came out to show their support for families living with ALS.

“Why not come out and hear some free music,” said ALS in the Heartland

executive director Tammy Stalzer. “But also come out so that you can learn more about ALS, and learn more about the reasons why you should support ALS in the Heartland and ALS Association, and in turn from those two places help people living with this disease.”

Not only was the benefit concert a fun time, but it also gave residents the chance to come together for a good cause.

“It helps people realize that there are other people out there with ALS and there are people there who can help them,” said Stalzer. “It creates a family-like atmosphere so that people know we are here, right here, right now, to help you while you’re living through what you’re going through.”

The concert is named in honor of The Establishment band member Pete Goede who passed away from ALS in 2015.

“Pete’s focus, and we’ve adopted it as our focus, is people just need help,” said Pete Goede ALS Benefit concert co-founder and Goede’s bandmate, Eric Boetger. “With anything, mowing the yard, cleaning the house, care, someone to sit with someone that’s ill. It’s a real need that’s out there.”
