DES MOINES, Iowa (WHO) — Officers with the Des Moines Police Department were called out to the Des Moines International Airport Friday morning after a gun was discovered during security screening.
The gun was located in the carry-on luggage of a 56-year-old Des Moines woman, according to Sgt. Paul Parizek of the DMPD. The .380 handgun was loaded.
The woman told police she forgot the gun was in the carry-on.
Sgt. Parizek said she was cited and released to continue her travels.
