No injuries were reported when a tire and wheel struck a vehicle on Highway 34.
According to a Union County report, at approximately 7:20 p.m. Jan. 28, a 2005 Jeep Liberty, driven by Brock C. Bucy, 24, of Osceola, was eastbound on the highway, when the front driver’s side tire and wheel of the Jeep sheered off the lug nuts while the Jeep was in motion.
The rampant wheel and tire continued eastbound into the westbound lane and struck a 2014 Ford F150, driven by David C. Gaffney, 61, of Essex.
Damage to the Ford was estimated at $5,000 and damage to the Jeep was estimated at $1,500.
