REMSON, Iowa — A Jefferson child is safe Tuesday night after law enforcement arrested his father on a charge of first-degree kidnapping.
Brandon Duong, 34, of Jefferson was arrested about 8 p.m. after a three-hour standoff with law enforcement in rural Plymouth County.
An Amber Alert was issued for Bryson Duong, 7, about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday after he was allegedly abducted by his father at the elementary school in Jefferson.
The elder Duong is held in the Greene County Jail. The child is in the custody of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.
