WASHINGTON — Senator Charles Grassley announced that more than $15 million of federal funding will be coming to Iowa airports from legislation he has supported.

The money is being administered through the Airport Infrastructure Grant program.

The Des Moines International Airport will get nearly $5.5 million to help build the new terminal and gates. The Fort Dodge Regional Airport is getting more than $876,000 to construct a new t-hanger for aircraft storage, maintenance, and service.

“Iowa’s airports move goods to market and help get people where they need to go. Keeping this critical infrastructure in top shape will strengthen Iowa’s economy and ensure Iowans’ safety when they travel,” Grassley said.
