Norma J. Clayton, 91, of Shenandoah, peacefully entered into eternal rest, Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, in Shenandoah. Graveside services for Norma will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Clearfield Cemetery in Clearfield. Visitation and viewing with family will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday at the Nishna Valley Funeral Home in Shenandoah.
Memorials in Norma’s name are being directed to the Clayton Family. Professional services are under the direction of Nishna Valley Funeral and Cremation Service in Shenandoah.
Norma Jean Clayton was born June 5, 1932, in Union County near Shannon City to Carl and Rose (Nelson) Black.
Attending Shannon City School, Norma graduated in 1950. In 1951, she was united in marriage to William Clayton. Three children were born into this union: Karen, Connie and Howard. They made their home on a farm northeast of Clearfield.
She was cook for the Clearfield School for 22 years and retired in 1992. In 2003, Norma moved to Shenandoah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; brother, Laverne Black; parents-in-laws, Earl and Mary Clayton; brothers-in-law, Jim Clayton and Bev Clayton and sister-in-law, Margarete Clayton.
She is survived by her children Karen (Jim) Sutton of Shenandoah, Connie (Tom) Anderson of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Howard (Carolyn) Clayton of Hilliard, Ohio; eight grandchildren: Della (Ty) Zimmer, Brandy (Joe) Cravens, Kim (Mike) O’Bryan, Melisa Anderson, William (Amber) Anderson, Jennifer (Paul) Rosetti, Daniel Clayton and Michael (Michelle) Clayton; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two nieces, Cathy Clayton and Virginia Clayton; other relatives and many friends.
