Ross Mendenhall, 42, of Corning, was taken into custody 3:04 a.m. Jan. 1 on the charges of OWI, first offense and interference with official acts.
According to an Adams County report, a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country minivan was observed northbound on Highway 148, the rear plate lamps were not operational. The minivan turned west on 16th Street and sped up rapidly. A traffic stop was initiated but the driver, later identified as Mendenhall, pulled in a driveway approximately one block later and exited the vehicle. As Mendenhall was walking toward a garage, he was identified by deputies and told to come talk.
While speaking with Mendenhall, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. Mendenhall had uneven balance, bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. He refused field sobriety testing when he attempted to run into his garage and house. He became combative and use of force was applied by deputies.
Deputies located an open can of Busch Light and a case of Busch Light were located in the minivan.
Mendenhall was transported to the Adams County Jail where he was again asked to do field sobriety tests again, he again refused. Mendenhall also refused a request of a breath specimen for chemical testing.
Mendenhall was released from the Adams County Jail after posting $2,000 cash bond.

Daniel Reyes, 36, of Lenox, was taken into custody 8:12 p.m. Jan. 5 on Highway 34 near Corning on the charge of driving while barred – habitual offender.
According to an Adams County report, deputies stopped a 2008 Chevrolet 1500 traveling 68 mph in a 55 mph zone. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Reyes, who was found to have a barred license.
Reyes was transported to the Adams County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash bond.

Kelley Malone, 57, of Corning, was taken into custody 9:33 p.m. Jan. 12 on 9th street in Corning for the charge of driving while suspended.
Malone was observed driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tracker and was found to have a suspended license.
Malone was issued a citation and was released on a summons to appear.
