Greenfield Chamber Annual Meeting
Greenfield Chamber Main Street and Community Development will host their annual meeting 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29 at Hotel Greenfield. A social time will precede the meeting at 5 p.m. There will be a free will offering for appetizers and a cash bar available.
The meeting will include program updates from each organization and recognition of each board member.
Education discussions pushed back a week
Due to icy weather predicted this week, the discussion of school funding and the AEA proposal will be postponed for a week, moving it from this Thursday, Jan. 25, to Thursday, Feb. 1. Event organizers hope locals will come and listen to information about current funding and what is proposed, and come ready to share any ideas they might have. As previously planned, the one-hour session will be repeated at 9:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., with an abbreviated session at 11:45 a.m., on Thursday, Feb. 1 at the Gathering Place.
Coffee and sweets will be provided at the morning meeting. The midday meeting will be a part of the Greenfield Chamber/Main Street Networking Lunch in the city hall meeting room. Reservations may be made by calling 743-8444, and the cost for food is $12. Soft drinks and coffee will be available during the afternoon session back at The Gathering Place.
Legislative Coffee Feb. 10 in Adair
The next local legislative coffee with Iowa State Legislators will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Adair Community Center. It is being sponsored by the Adair County Farm Bureau. Refreshments will be provided.

Lions Club youth wrestling Feb. 11
The Greenfield Lions Club is having a youth wrestling tournament Sunday, Feb. 11 at Nodaway Valley High School.
There are divisions for girls and boys in pre-K/K, 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7/8th grades. Weigh-ins for the Pre PeeWee and Seniors divisions are at 8 a.m. with the PeeWees, Midgets and Juniors at 9 a.m.

Many Hats event in February
The third annual Many Hats Womens Conference will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18 at the 4-H/FFA Center on the Adair County Fairgrounds in Greenfield.
This year’s theme for the event is “Kindness Wins.” Virtual keynote speaker will be Past President for the Society of Women Engineers, Stacy DelVecchio. After working 30 years at Caterpillar, she chose to retire. She remains a strong advocate for women around the world and also works for a local giving organization that has awarded over $1.2 millionto non-profits in that area in its first five years.
This year’s event will also include “The Future Centenarian Club,” local panelists talking about kindness and impacting the world, health and wellness tips, door prizes, activities, food and more.
An optional workshop time and soup supper ($10) will follow from 5:30-7 p.m.
